PHOTOS: Randi Rahm launches ‘Let’s Play! Sweet Adventure’ during NYFW SS23

Couture designer Randi Rahm presented whimsical yet elegant pieces at her Manhattan atelier (501 Madison Ave.) on Sept. 8 during NYFW. Inspired by Candyland, the “Let’s Play… Sweet Adventure” collection marks a departure from the brand’s signature bridal gowns and ushers in an era of gender-inclusive haute couture. In this world, the cheongsam is newly envisioned as a beaded, cut-out, mini dress, and a satin ballgown is modernized with a zipper and black laced design. “I do not consider myself a fashion designer, but an artist who performs her work through design,” Rahm said in a press release. “Fine art never goes out of style– it is a constant reflection of our ever-changing selves.”
Guests were thrilled to find the atelier transformed into a true Candyland, with candy cane forests and a gum drop mountain bringing the classic childhood game to life. Attendees included Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu, singer and actress Shoshana Bean, and television personality Rachel Lindsay. Sponsors included Picnic Brunch, Helen Ficalora, and Crumbly Cafe & Bakery.
