R&B and pop singer L’ôr is prepping the release of her newest single, “Falling Under,” slated to drop on Feb. 1. The sultry record puts the Brooklyn native’s voice at the forefront, with lyrics that are both reflective and beckoning. L’ôr began singing in church as a child, and was captivated by the cadence of the gospel music. Over the years she honed her talents as a singer, writer, and musician, and graduated from the acclaimed Talent Unlimited Performing Arts School in Manhattan. Counted among her influences are Toni Braxton, Brandy, Lady Gaga, and Beyoncé.

“Falling Under” tackles mental health and overcoming depression, and L’ôr’s upcoming EP will be a deeply personal project driven by her life story. The release is also unrestricted in terms of genre. “I grew with this new EP sonically and creatively,” L’ôr explained. “I wrote a vision for the project that was… deeply rooted in R&B but has evolved to an alternative pop sound centered around catchy hooks and infectious melodies.” The single is available now for pre-order on iTunes.
