Jazz at Lincoln Center to livestream 2020 gala concert

Jazz at Lincoln Center’s annual Spring Gala will be modified for an online audience in light of the current stay-at-home mandates in the New York area. Instead of the usual ticketed dinner and benefit concert, the organization will present a free livestream titled “Worldwide Concert for our Culture” on April 15 at 7:30 p.m. ET. Viewers will enjoy the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, and special performances by the Brussels Jazz Orchestra, Makoto Ozone, the WDR Big Band, and many more. Honorees include Clarence Otis and Jacqueline L. Bradley, who will receive the Ed Bradley Award for Leadership in Jazz, and Phil Schaap, honored with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Award for Artistic Excellence. While donations are not required, they are requested in support of Jazz at Lincoln Center’s educational programs, performances, and resources.
