Fetty Wap and Miri Ben-Ari to perform during the Shorty Awards
Grammy-nominated recording artist Fetty Wap and Grammy Award-winning violinist Miri Ben-Ari will be the musical guests at the 12th Annual Shorty Awards, according to the organization’s website. The social media award ceremony will take place online this year due to COVID-19 stay-at-home orders, streaming on YouTube and Twitter on May 3 at 7 p.m. ET.
Fetty Wap is best known for his debut single, “Trap Queen,” which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Charts in 2015. In more recent months, he has dropped a new single, “Fresh N Clean,” and a mixtape, Trap & B. Ben-Ari– also known as the “Hip-Hop Violinist”– has collaborated with stars such as Wyclef Jean, Jay-Z, Kanye West, and more throughout her decades-long career. The 41-year-old is also the recipient of numerous honors, including the 2015 Ellis Island Medal of Honor.
The Shorty Awards recognizes people and organizations making their mark in the social media space, with categories such as “Best Meme/Parody Account,” “Best Graphics,” and “Best Facebook Partnership.” Past Shorty Award winners include Taylor Swift, Michelle Obama, and Neil Patrick Harris.
