TORONTO, Nov. 5, 2020 /CNW/ – One of North America’s leading community teaching hospitals — Michael Garron Hospital (MGH) — is once again writing the city its funniest prescription with a live-streamed virtual edition of its comedy event, Laughter is the Best Medicine: at Home, presented by BMO Financial Group, on Saturday, November 14. Former east-ender Will Arnett will return as host, joined by Toronto native Howie Mandel as headliner, musical guest Serena Ryder and opening acts Gerry Dee and Patrick Haye. MasterChef judge and restaurateur Michael Bonacini will be overseeing an elegant meal with wine pairings to be delivered to over 900 attendees’ homes, and will walk them through its preparation on video.

The event – which sold out in presale – offers the rare opportunity to watch high-caliber, live-streamed entertainment from the comfort of home. 50 frontline healthcare workers will also be in attendance thanks to the generosity of donors. MGH gratefully welcomes back BMO Financial Group as Presenting Sponsor for the fifth time.
Proceeds will support the hospital’s renewal and expansion and ensure the hospital can provide excellent healthcare for the East Toronto community.
