America’s largest mixed reality entertainment venue
The virtual reality experiences are getting better. Many would really enjoy the virtual reality experiences at VR World located at 8 E. 34th St. We had the golden opportunity to attend a press preview of the VR World Opening of their Flagship NYC location in Midtown Manhattan.
VR World has various different games/experiences on three floors. There are a wide range of games, film, and art experiences like escape from Egyptian pyramid, survive the zombie apocalypse, explore the Orion Nebula, and others. There were other neat, almost real life virtual reality experiences like the Flight Simulator on ICAROS or Racing Driving Simulator.
Every station had a helpful and super friendly assistant that introduced what each game is all about. Also, they were there to help with setting up and troubleshoot any issues that impeded the experience for the user.
VR World has a registry system that helps prevents lines for waiting. The user needs to electronically sign in and each person gets 10 minutes to play. However, if the user signed into one queue, the user will not lose their spot in the other.
The users wear VR gear, usually a headset that covers the eyes and ears, and have experiences that wouldn’t be available to them from where they are. There is a full bar with fine craft cocktails, and later, there will be a DJ. Admission is $44 for two hours, or an all-day pass for $64 which is available on the website or at the door.
In the summer of 2017, VR Worldwide transformed a 20,000 square foot historic retail space into the country’s largest and most well-placed Virtual Reality Hub called VR World. They launched with over 50 content pieces spanning multiple genres from entertainment to social impact, music, gaming, sports, science, art, and more, all of which are housed within a magical, brightly colored retail space.
