Review: Stojo’s collapsible cup products at Winter NY Now 2020
We had the opportunity to see Stojo’s collapsible cup at Winter NY Now 2020 at the Javits Center. This neat product can fit into your pocket.
The Stojo is world’s first ultra-portable and leak-proof reusable cup. The cup and straw collapses into a nifty leak proof disc that can be easily tucked away in your pocket or bag once you’ve finished your drink. The product has a removable solid plastic slip-on sleeve that adds stability to the flexible silicone cup and insulates your hands from hot drinks.
Stojo’s collapsible products are made from durable, resilient materials and food-grade silicone. The product doesn’t contain any BPAs or phthalates, and is recyclable, dishwasher-safe, and microwavable.
According to some who have tried the product, there are some cons. The sleeve slips off if not held, and the lid can be hard to close when the cup is filled (due to squishy bottom). Silicone is soft, and if the cup is squeezed the liquid will spill out. This microwavable polypropylene can get very hot to the touch. However, many would feel the positives of the product outweighs the negatives.
It costs only $20, and is available on Amazon. One Stojo cup saves 23 pounds of greenhouse gas emissions, 16 pounds of solid waste and 281 pounds of water. Their products are made in factories that meet the BSCI Code of Conduct, a rigorous set of requirements focused on employee rights, safety, and environmental regulations. These factories undergo regular audits by international organizations.
