Bridge for Africa at Winter NY Now 2020

There was a larger presence of African and other international products at the Winter NY Now 2020 show at the Jacob Javits Convention Center. Bridge for Africa is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, since 2003, dedicated to promoting self-sufficiency and the dignity of work in rural African communities.

These women from Africa and America envisioned a non-profit organization committed to Building Resources to Inspire Dignity, Growth, and Empowerment (BRIDGE) through trade. With their Fair Trade practices and being a proud member of the Fair Trade Federation , they guarantee fair wages, equal opportunities, safe working conditions, and long-term relationships built on mutual respect.

They pay their artists a living wage, promote sustainable development in Africa, and educate consumers in the U.S. about the benefits of Fair Trade as a method to fight poverty in the developing world. Their goal is to provide consistent work and a living wage for the skilled artisans with whom they partner, enabling them to shape their own lives and thereby advancing hope for future generations.

Their products are currently located in over 300 stores across the US , 90 museums, and 28 zoos. Bridge for Africa has provided quality crafts to the US wholesale market since 2006.

Bridge for Africa warehouses its inventory in the United States, and usually can ship within two business days, so turnaround and delivery times are short. They receive frequent shipments from Africa to ensure a steady source of inventory to meet customers’ needs.

Every purchase of Bridge for Africa’s unique collectable African art sustains African artists and their families. Customers can rest assured that Bridge for Africa has Fair Trade at the heart of what it does. More about the non-profit organization can be found bridgeforafricawholesale.org.
